Our Girls' Gaelic team that were beaten finalists in Loughmacrory

18th Apr 2019

Our P7 Girls' Gaelic team competed brilliantly in a blitz in Loughmacrory on Wednesday 18th April 2019 to make it to their first ever final. The girls played in 5 league matches, winning 3 of those games to finish runners up and progress to the semi finals. In the semis they met Pomeroy for the second time and avenged their earlier narrow defeat with a convincing win to get them through to their first ever final. In the final they came up against hosts and favourites Loughmacrory. Playing against a very strong wind in the first half they were trailing by a considerable margin at the break, but with their never say die attitude they fought courageously in the second half, limiting Loughmacrory to two scores. Sadly the damage had been done in the first half and they lost the game 4-5 to 2-3.

Huge congratulations to all the girls who did themselves, Mr McKenna and the school extremely proud. A fantastic effort and a great bunch of girls to take anywhere to represent All Saints'.
