Sam wins new kits from MFC!!

30th May 2025

Many congratulations to Sam, in P6, who was the winner of the Design Your Own Kit competition, organised by MFC!

Mrs McGrath gave her P6/7 class the challenge of designing their very own school kit, using MFC's new kit building app, with each pupil in the class entering their own individual designs. They were competing against over 130 schools throughout Ireland, who had also entered the competition.

Sam's design was one of three designs chosen by MFC to enter the final, which was then decided by an online vote, via Instagram. Thanks to all our staff and parents promoting it via social media etc... we managed to secure over 1200 votes, to ensure Sam's design won.

The winning prize meant Sam won his very own jersey and also a full set of his kit for our school, which the Sam and his sister Ava are modelling in the attached photographs.

Huge thanks must go to Mrs McGrath for working on the project with her class, as well as all the staff and parents who helped promote Sam's design via social media, encouraging their friends and family to vote! We had votes coming in from all over the world, including; Australia, USA, Spain, Germany, Mexico and England.

Most of all, huge thanks must go to the fantastic staff of MFC, who ran the competition with such an amazing prize. All the pupils are delighted with their brilliant new kits, as the video attached shows. It even brought the team luck, as they won the shield in their first outing wearing it at St Joseph's P.S., Drumquin.

Finally, a special word of thanks must go to Sam for designing the beautiful kit. Sam even used his ICT skills to copy and paste the logo of our good neighbours and sponsors of one of our previous kits (JB Barrett Tractors) from their website, which we all feel enhanced the design even further! Super work Sam! Well done.
